Luanda - Petro de Luanda remains unbeaten in the national first division football Championship, after beating Santa Rita de Cássia 1-0 on Saturday, in the 8th round of the competition.
Pedro Aparício was responsible for the hard-fought win, scoring the solitary goal in the 44th minute, in a match that took place at the 11 de Novembro stadium in the country's capital, Luanda.
Petro leads the competition with 21 points, followed by 1º de Agosto, with 17, which beat Carmona do Uíge, also 1-0, at the 4 de Janeiro Stadium, with a goal scored by Celso in the second minute.
The match between Petro de Luanda and Santa Rita started with the hosts more aggressive in the attack, while the visitors kept more cautious in the defensive and midfield sectors.
Santa Rita's defensive mission facilitated Petro's attack that resulted in a goal in the 44th minute, through Pedro Aparício, after Anderson's long pass.
At the restart, Santa Rita responded in the 46th minute, when Ary Chato appeared isolated, but failed to deliver.
From then on, there were several moments. Both teams made numerous changes, but the 1-0 result remained unchanged until the final whistle.
