Luanda - Petro de Luanda will take part in the First Edition of the continental Super League, announced Thursday by the African Football Confederation (CAF), for October and November this year.
With the venue still to be determined, the competition was officially announced on July 3, 2022 and had its launch on August 10 of the same year in Arusha, (Tanzania), during the 44th Ordinary General CAF Assembly.
Each club listed in this African Super League will receive a prize pool of almost €2 million, while the winner of the tournament will get more than €6 million.
Competitors are exempt from transport and accommodation expenses, since the new sponsor will incur the expenses
Of the 24 clubs participating in the tournament, each will receive an annual contribution of €3.5 million for the purchase of players, payment of transport and transfer of athletes.

Al Hilal (Sudan), Simba (Tanzania), SC Enyimba (Nigeria), Ashanti Kotoko (Ghana), Coton Sport (Cameroon), TP Mazembe (DRC), Asec Mimosas (Côte d'Ivoire), Horoya Athletic (Guinea Conakry), JS Babyile, Belouizdad and ES Setif (Algeria).
Esperance de Tunis, Étoile du Sahel (Tunisia), Al Ahly, Zamalek, Pyramid and Al Masry (Egypt), Wydad, Raja Casablanca and RS Berkane (Morocco), Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs (South Africa) complete the group.
