Luanda - Petro de Luanda will play Black Bull of Mozambique on 9 and 11 September in the first qualifying preliminary round match for African Football Clubs League.
The draw for the biggest club competition in the continent was conducted on Tuesday in Cairo (Egypt).
The two clubs of the Community of the Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) -
Petro de Luanda and Black Bull - won the national tournaments in their countries, Girabola 2021-2022 and Moçambola 2021-2022, respectivelly.
In their last edition, Petro de Luanda reached the semi-finals, before they had been
knockedout by Wydad of Morocco following a 3-1 defeat and 1-1draw.
In case of victory, Petro de Luanda will face in the second qualifying round the winners of the match between Cape Town of South Africa and AS Otoho from the Republic of the Congo.
Another Angolan representative, 1º de Agosto will meet Red Arrows of Zambia, the club that had eliminated them in the previous edition preliminary rounds, with defeat of 0-1 and draw of 0-0.
The first leg match is also due to take place between 9 and 11 September, while the second is scheduled for 16 - 18 September in Luanda.
If 1º de Agosto emerge winner, they will tackle the winner from the game between Big Bullets of Malawi - Simba of Tanzania.
