Luanda – Angola takes part in the pre-Olympic basketball tournament, to be played from this Tuesday in four host cities, with a team whose age ranges from 18 to 32 years old.
Among the 12 athletes chosen by coach Pep Clarós, in the race to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, the youngest is Aginaldo Neto, aged 18, and the oldest is João Fernandes, aged 32.
At the event, 24 teams will be on stage in Riga (Latvia), Peraeus (Greece), San Juan (Puerto Rico) and Valencia (Spain).
Angola is included in Group A, based in Valencia, with Spain, the opponent for the debut match (3 July) and Lebanon, the second-round opponent (4 July).
Only the first team from each group qualifies for Paris 2024. At the moment, Canada, France, Serbia, Germany, Australia, Japan, South Sudan and the United States of America have been selected.
