Luanda – The national football team began preparations on Monday in Luanda to face Ghana on Thursday, in a group F game, to qualify for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON'2025).

Among the 25 players called up, in the training held at the 11 de Novembro stadium, only 12 players were present, including two who play in Angola and others from foreign clubs.

There are Neblú, Pedro Bondo, Bastos Quissanga, Ricardo Baptista, Keliano, Mabululu, Clinton da Mata, David Carmo, Jordi Gaspar, Gelson Dala, Estrela and Zito Luvumbo.

However, ANGOP found that other players should arrive within some days.

Coached by Pedro Gonçalves, the players return to training on Tuesday morning. On the same day, they will travel to Ghana in the afternoon for the match that will take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

According to the centre-back Bastos Quissanga, it was a tight training session in which the coach managed to pay attention to the form of the players present.

“It was a positive training session for Thursday’s game and we are available. I am happy to be back. I was well received after a long period and I will continue to work for Angola”, he said.

Regarding the opponent, he said that it is a team that needs no introduction due to its history on the continent, but that Angola is prepared to achieve a positive result. JAD WR/MRA/DOJ
