Luanda - Improvements in technical and tactical aspects and the strategy to be used in the match against Libya, at 8 pm on the 20th, in Benghazi, dominated the second and final training session of the National Football Team, in Portugal.
In Lisbon since Sunday (16), for a short training program, the national team already held a training session on Monday (17), at the Jamor National Stadium, the same venue for Tuesday's session.
Angola, 4th placed in group D, with 6 points, face Libya, 2nd with 7, in a match of the 5th round of the African qualifying phase for the FIFA 2026 World Cup, to be played in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
According to a statement from the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), the athletes Neblú, Dominique, Nsesani, Fredy, Benson, Milson, Beny, Hossi, Gaspar, David Carmo, Kinito, Maestro, Zini, Mabululu, Gelson Dala, Clinton, Chico, Domingos, Pedro, Tó Carneiro, Sandro, Gilberto and Keliano were present.
The trip to Benghazi takes place on Wednesday (19) morning, with the 3rd training session scheduled to take place on the same day, during the usual training session on the pitch at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi.
The note does not make any reference to the forwards Afimico Pululu (Janiellonia, Poland) and M’bala Nzola (Lens, France), both under the care of the national team’s medical team.
This situation could also compromise the presence of these athletes in the match against Cape Verde, on the 25th, for the 6th round, also valid for the qualification for the FIFA 2026 World Cup.
With Bastos Quissanga and Show also injured, the Angolan National Team is losing important players who have contributed to the good performances shown in recent years.
