Paris – Angolan Juliana Moko will have a difficult task on Thursday in seeking the direct access to the final in the 200m in women's athletics for visually impaired athletes (class T11) of the Paralympic Games, taking place in Paris, French, a race in which will face opponents with better cloacking.
The sprinter enters track five at the Stade de France (second series), with the best mark in the specialty 26.91, alongside the Chinese Liu Cuiqing (24.36), the Brazilian Simplicio da Silva (24.88) and from Namibian Ishitile Lahja (25.35).
Among eight competitors (including the four from the first series of these semi-finals), the 24-year-old runner will have to be resilient to obtain a mark capable of taking her to the final, that if it happened, it would be unprecedented for her in a competition of this kind.
In her second participation in the Paralympic Games, after Tokyo2020, Juliana Moko already competed in the 100 and 400m, having reached the semi-finals and improving her personal bests, respectively to 12.51 (brought 13.03) and 1:03.09 (1:09.85).
In the second series of this 200m race are Geber dos Santos (Brazil-24.63), Silva Spoladore (Brazil-24.82), Peres Lopes (Colombia-25.27) and Morzayorova Asila (Uzbekistan-26.06).
Angola will compete again on Friday (sixth) with Sabino Bunbua, in the 400m for athletes with motor disabilities, class T46 (amputation of an upper limb).
