Luanda – At least 2,000 sports monitors will be trained from 2024 to 2027 to develop sport in the communities, the Minister of Youth and Sport, Rui Falcão, announced Friday in Luanda Province.
According to the minister, the action would soon begin on an experimental basis and then be expanded.
The minister, who was speaking during the First Informal Meeting with sports journalists, said the national federations have training programs and must comply with them, since the ministry will not be able to disseminate the practice of any sport if the federations are not actually involved.
Rui Falcão pointed out that one of the major concerns today is making use of former athletes, some of whom do not know what to do with their lives, underlining that they can become coaches, which is also a way of creating jobs.
