Luanda - The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MINJUD), Olympic and Paralympic Committee Federations on Friday, in Luanda Province, addressed sporting activities within the framework of 50 years of national independence.
The working meeting led by the incumbent minister, Rui Falcão, was held in closed doors, at the Sports Gallery, in the Cidadela Sports Complex, over two hours.
It focused around the organization of national and international competitions and in the various sports disciplines as from November of the current year to the same month of 2025.
On the occasion, the secretary of State for Sports, Paulo Madeira, informed the press that there was a meeting that aimed to seek greater engagement from those involved to obtain results.
Without specifying which disciplines were chosen, he only noted that the country hopes to host the men's Afrobasket and the African Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competition in 2025, in addition to other competitions to celebrate the 50th anniversary of independence, achieved on November 11, 1975.
The official added that regarding the diversified national program, sport will be a focus of the government life, given the greater number of activities and their impact on social and community life.
Among those present were the chairman of the Jiu-jitsu, Swimming, Fencing, Boxing and Basketball Federations, as well as the Angolan Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
