Luanda - Strategies in the field of staff training and sports medicine dominated the Wednesday meeting between the minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcão, and the Portuguese ambassador to Angola, Francisco Alegre Duarte, at the ministry's headquarters.
During the meeting, within the framework of the two countries' bilateral agreement and completion of the Executive Plan to materialize the general agreement, sporting matters were reviewed, with the proposal to start in 2025.
According to Rui Falcão, who spoke to the press at the end of the meeting, this agreement will work through the exchange of teams, where it is intended that the national teams continue to intern in Portugal within the framework of the aforementioned protocol.
For him, this meeting comes as an antecipation, in order to work with the national federations of both countries, engaging them in complying with the times defined for each of the actions, in order to make good use of the infrastructures in Portugal.
The protocol covers several disciplines, highlighting roller hockey, basketball, football, basic training of athletes with technical gestures, as well as instruction from coaches.
In turn, the Portuguese ambassador to Angola, Francisco Alegre Duarte, highlighted that the main focus was on issues linked to medicine in different sports areas, mentioning roller hockey and football and surfing to deepen bilateral relations.
Francisco Duarte said they are available to help on the aforementioned concerns, specifying that his term will seek to make the process of granting national sports visas more flexible, making the process faster within compliance with the law.
Angola and Portugal recently signed 12 legal cooperation agreements, Portuguese soil has been the stage for the performance and preparation of several national athletes in different modalities.
On the other hand, several Portuguese coaches and players are inserted in different national championships, including coaches guiding national teams, with emphasis on National Main Football Team Coach, Pedro Gonçalves.
