Luena - The FC Bravos do Maquis' head coach, Mário Soares, expressed on Monday, in Luena, Province of Moxico, his ambition of kicking off the group stage of the “Nelson Mandela” African Football Confederation (CAF) Cup with victory, at the Simbas SC's ground.
The match, counting for the first round of group A of the CAF Cup, is scheduled for Wednesday, at 2 pm, at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium, in the city of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Speaking on predictions about the game, the Maquis coach said that the squad are in “good sportive shape” with the focus of starting the CAF Cup right.
The only casualty for this challenge, according to the coach, is centre back Ady Boyó, who was injured in the latest game of the top division championship (Girabola), however, he informed that the team will have the return of midfielder Macaiabo, whom he considers an excellent player.
"Although with little competitive pace, it will be an option for this game and we hope to solve the finishing issues that the club has been facing", highlighted the coach.
Mário Soares said that he knows the way Simba SC from Tanzania play, “they are strong and quick in offensive moves”, he said.
Despite this issue, Maquis' head coach claims to have a team that will be able to stop and outwit the opponent, and win the three points in the competition.
This is FC Bravos do Maquis' first participation in a group stage of the competition.
The team head to Tanzania on Tuesday, Nov 26.
Simba's ground Sport Club have 6 appearances in the Champions League and 2 in the CAF Confederations Cup.
