Luanda – The international wing midfielder Manuel Benson will undergo tests to allow the medical team to make a more in-depth assessment of his clinical condition, the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) announced on Friday.
This follows an injury sustained in Thursday's 1-1 draw between Angola and Libya in Benghazi, when the influential player was substituted in the 59th minute due to the severity of the injury.
According to FAF, the Angolan delegation faced difficulties upon arrival in the city of Benghazi, where they waited more than three hours to leave the stadium for security reasons, causing a delay in boarding the flight to Luanda.
Angola face Cape Verde on Tuesday at 5 pm at the 11 de Novembro stadium in Luanda, for the 6th matchday and first of the second round.
Angola are fourth with seven points, while Cape Verde are top with 10, Cameroon are second with nine points, followed by Libya in third (8), Seychelles in fifth (4) and Eswatini in sixth (1). WR/MC/TED/AMP
