Luanda - Three Angolan referees have been nominated by the African Confederation of Mixed Martial Arts (AMMAC) for the seventh edition of the African Championship of the sport, to be held from 28 May to 2 June in Namibia.
The National Team, both in male and female category, will be present at this continental event.
These are Jair Yoba, Óscar Breno and Linara da Costa, who have also been selected for the World Championships that could take place in Angola in 2026, if the International MMA Federation (IMMAF) approves the Kilamba Multipurpose Pavilion in Luanda.
Of the three Angolan referees, Óscar Breno and Linara da Costa will be making their first international appearance, while Jair Yoba rose to the international category in 2023, on the occasion of the African event held in Angola.
In the same year (2023), Óscar Breno and Linara da Costa were chosen, after training, for the 2026 World Cup, which has three candidates for its organisation, namely Angola, Brazil and the United States of America.
