Luanda - The Angolan Inelton Bombo, of the grappling style (84kg), won the silver medal in the World Fighting Championship, held recently in north-west city Pontevedra in Spain.

With a total of three victories with opponents from the United States of America, Romania and France, the fighter lost only in the final match to the Spanish, Arturo Salas Espies.

 

In the competition, that was disputed from the 12th to the 23rd of this month, in addition to Inelton Bombo, the Angolan squad was composed by Jonas Malungo, in the 82kg (Greco-Roman style), Welvina Vemba and Tadeu Francisco in the 57kg (wrestling) as well as the athlete Delfina dos Santos, at 64kg, and Kieto Pacheco, at 84kg (grappling).

 

The Angolan group returned to the country today and in the championship standings it ranked in 13th position, among 23 countries, after the 23rd place in the debut in world championships, in 2018, in Budapest City of Hungary.

Luanda - O angolano Inelton Bombo, do estilo grappling (84kg), conquistou a medalha de prata no Campeonato do Mundo de lutas, disputado recentemente em Pontevedra (Espanha).

 

Com um total de três vitórias com adversários dos Estados Unidos da América, Romênia e França, o lutador perdeu somente na final diante do espanhol, Arturo Salas Espies.

 

Na prova, que se disputou de 12 a 23 deste mês, o país esteve igualmente representado por Jonas Malungo, nos 82kg (no estilo greco-romano), Welvina Vemba, nos 57kg, Tadeu Francisco, nos 57kg (luta-livre).

 

Completam o grupo, que regressou hoje ao país, a atleta Delfina dos Santos, nos 64 kg, e Kieto Pacheco, nos 84kg (grappling).

 

Na classificação geral, Angola ficou na 13ª posição, entre 23 países, depois do 23º lugar na estreia em mundiais, em 2018, em Budapeste (Hungria).
