Luanda - The Kikuxi Villas Club Academy women's tennis team will represent Angola in the African zone of the Fed Cup international tournament on 5-10 June in Kigali, Rwanda.
The announcement was made by the vice president of the Angolan Tennis Federation (FAT), João Sanda, who said that the decision to pick the Club, rather than the National Team, owed to the institution's lack of the resources.
He added that the choice of the Club of the Municipality of Viana occurs in recognition of its work and the results obtained by its athletes in local and foreign competitions.
The Fed Cup, which takes place by continental zones, is a competition on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) calendar.
Eleven African countries will participate in the competition.
