Luanda - Angolan Kialunda Gaspar undergoes medical tests, after being confirmed on Tuesday as the new central defender for professional Italian football club Unione Sportiva Lecce, in Italy's Football Series A, according to the club's website.
The athlete, from Estrela da Amadora club of the Portuguese Top League, signed a contract valid for five seasons worth two million Euros.
He is the fourth Angolan to play in the Italian Serie A, after central defender Bastos Kissanga (Lazio), Zito Luvumbu (Cagliari) and Mbala Nzola (Fiorentina).
At age 26, the national team player caught the attention of the Italians due to his ability in defensive actions and ability to score goals with his head.
He has played for Estrela da Amadora since 2022, with a record of 63 games.
Kialonda Gaspar debuted in the first division National Championship (Girabola) in 2018 with Sagrada Esperança and in 2021 became national champion.
