Luanda - Angola national team participating in the World Jiu Jitsu Championship said they will seek to improve their current position in the world ranking (18th) during the competition to be held from July 14 to 20 in Mongolia.
The national team is made up of 20 fighters, with highlight to the paralympic athletes Osleyne Ramalhosa (world champion) in the 62kg category, and Ruth Baltazar, runners up in the world ''fighting system'', 52kg.
The women’s team includes the fighters Ne-waza style, Rosângela Teixeira ( 49kg), Otchivela António (55kg), Ana Vilela (62kg), Joselaide fragoso (70kg) and Luzimery Garcia (70kg).
The men’s team comprise Derson Xavier (56kg), Luís António (62kg), Stelan Silva(69kg), Erick Rodrigo (77kg), Inelton Bombo (85kg), Valeriano Cabral (94kg) and Leonel ferreira (94kg).
In the fighting styles the fighters summoned to take part in the competition includes Banino Kinanga (77kg), Elaine Musungo (-69kg), João dos Santos (-69kg), Joaquim Fernandes (-69kg), Elisa Francois (-48kg), Ruthi Baltazar (-52kg) and Marcelina Hoyola (-45kg).
This the third time Angola is taking part in the world jiu jitsu competition, the last being in 2022, in the United Arab Emirates. JAD/FN/AMP/NIC
