Luena - The Office of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sport in Moxico province on Wednesday recommended various sports associations in the region to be transparent and rigorous in their mandates renewal processes.

Speaking to ANGOP, the head of local sport, Marlene Muzala Capuita, said the elections in the region's sports associations must take place in a democratic climate, with transparency and rigor, for the good of the sports.

Marlene Capuita said that elections are planned in the Basketball, Football, Judo and Handball Associations, having considered these to be decisive processes that could determine the direction of sport in Moxico.

In handball, where elections are taking place this weekend, the candidates running for leadership are Timóteo Baptista Chinene, who is running for re-election, and handball player Hermenegildo Valdemiro Salamo.

So far, the Provincial Boxing Association was the only one to hold elections in May, when Salomão Cambula was re-elected for another term. LTY/TC/YD/TED/AMP
