Luanda - A team made up of foreign players from several countries, on Monday, in the Province of Luanda, won the 10th edition of the international golf tournament called “Dipanda 2024”, played on the Mangais Resort course.
The competition, which is part of the celebrations of the 49th anniversary of National Independence, marked on November 11, began on Saturday (10) and was played using the “Match Play” system.
In the final, the International team beat the squad made up by Angolan athletes by 2-0, and in the individual category by 1-0.
The event, in celebration of Independence Day, aimed to promote and develop the sport and increase cooperation between participating countries.
Athletes from Angola, Portugal, Morocco, Canada, Argentina, Korea, Zimbabwe and China competed, totaling 64 golfers.
Speaking to the press, the head of the event's Organizing Committee, António Louro, stated that in technical terms, Angolan golf players are very dedicated, putting pressure on opponents from other countries.
The 2023 edition was also won by competitors from foreign states.
António Louro informed that for the year 2025, a super "hyper dipanda" competition will take place.
In addition to the 50th anniversary of National Independence, they promised several surprises in terms of amateur and professional golf tournaments.
