Luanda - The 15th round of Angola's national first division football championship (Girabola2022/23) ended Thursday with Desportivo da Huila thrashing ASK Dragão do Uige, 6-1, in a match played at Tundavala Stadium.
With this result, the Huila football team climbed to sixth position with 21 points, while the Uige team remained 16th with four points in a competition led by Petro de Luanda (37 pts).
Also on Thursday, Uige's Santa Rita de Cássia (7th place/20 pts) drew with Sporting de Cabinda (12th/16).
On Wednesday, 1 de Agosto (5th/27) lost to Interclube (3rd/28) 0-1, at the 22 de Junho stadium, in Luanda.
As for the other games, champions Petro de Luanda (1st/37 pts) beat (2-1) Cuando Cubango FC (10th/17 pts). Recreativo do Libolo (13th/15) lost (0-1) to Desportivo da Lunda Sul (11th/16 pts).
Sagrada Esperança (4th/27 pts) beat (2-1) Isaac de Benguela (15th/9 pts), Wiliete de Benguela (2nd/31 pts) to Académica do Lobito (6th/20pts), 2-1, and Bravos dos Maquis do Moxico (9th/18 pts) beat Sporting Benguela (14th/9pts) 1-0.
Petro de Luanda striker Tiago Azulão is the top scorer of the championship with 13 goals.
