Luanda - The Angolan attacking midfielder Delvi Miguel Vieira “Gibelé” signed Friday, a three-year contract with South Africa’s Orlando Pirates FC, the club's official website has said.
After undergoing medical examinations and having finalized personal terms, the player will join his new team on July 8, in Spain, for pre-season.
The 23-year-old midfielder won five titles with Angola’s Petro de Luanda, two national championships (2022/23 and 2023/24), two Angolan Cups (2022/23 and 2023/24) and one Super Cup (2023).
The player had a brilliant performance in the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN '2023), held in Côte d’ Ivoire, where Angola reached the quarter-finals.
This is the third signing of an Angolan footballer in less than a week, after defender Kialunda Gaspar was transferred from Estrela de Amadora (Portugal) to Lecce in the Italian League A until 2027.
Another Petro de Luanda player who has joined a South African team is the 29-year-old attacking midfielder, Carlinhos do Carmo, who joined Cape Town City in a two-year contract.
