Luanda -Petro de Luanda chairperson Tomás Faria suggested Monday the holding of closed doors games, following the cancellation of federated sports by the new Presidential Decree to prevent and combat spread of the Covid-19 in the country.
According to the Petro de Luanda leader, national clubs need to prepare themselves and have competitiveness with holding games, ahead of the African Champion League Clubs, in February, and the African Basketball League (BAL), in March, in Dakar (Senegal).
Tomás Faria says he defends change in the law to allow the holding of matches, without the presence of the public to allow the progress of the work and reach successful participation in these African competitions.
The country will be represented in the afro cup by the national champions Sagrada Esperança and runners up Petro de Luanda.
Petro de Luanda is the solo team to represent Angola in the BAL to be held in Senegal.
The federated sports activities were suspended from Friday, due to the increase of cases of contamination by Covid-19, in recent days.
