Cuito - The Bié Province's under-17 women's football team on Tuesday, in the city of Cuito, lost to their counterparts from Cuanza Norte by 0-1, in the opening match of the first edition of the national tournament in this category.

Gibelé was the author of the only goal of the match played at the Eucaliptos Stadium.

Bié and Cuanza Norte teams are part of the series A, which also includes the teams from Lunda Sul, Malanje and Moxico.

The conclusion of this first round will only take place on Thursday, because the teams from Luanda and Moxico will only travel to Bié on Wednesday.

Series B is made up of teams from Luanda, Cabinda, Uíge, Cubango and Huíla, whose game stadium is in the city of Lubango, in the province of Huíla.

The tournament is an initiative of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), as part of its actions aimed at popularizing the sport.

The opening ceremony of the 1st edition of the under-17 women's tournament held in the city of Cuito was witnessed by the provincial director of Youth and Sports, Afonso Belo Sanguvila and the national coordinator of the women's teams, Ana Catarina Alberto, on behalf of the FAF.
