Luanda – The national top division championship title holders Petro de Luanda on Friday won the Angola Super Cup in football, in the Province of Benguela, a game played at the Ombaka national stadium, after beating Académica do Lobito (the other Angola league cup finalist) by 1-0.
The match with the only goal scored by captain Tiago Azulão in the 80th minute, was officiate by the international referee João Goma.
With this result, Petro de Luanda take the title away from Desportivo da Huíla, who won the previous Super Cup edition.
Led by coach João Pintar, the Académica do Lobito team were made up of of Badrick, Nelito, Caprego, Sequesseque, Manucho, Bicho, Sozito, Gazeta, Maria Pia, Pino and Makusa, as well as substitutes Nuno, Ady, Geovane and Matu, who didn't play.
Hugo, Kinito, Pedro Pinto, Tó Carneiro, Eddie Afonso, Soares, Jonathan, Vanilson, Anderson, Guedes, Tiago Azulão, as well as the substitutes Augusto, Miguel and Mindinho (who didn't play), are Petro de Luanda players, who were coached by Alexandre Santos.
In disciplinary terms, Pino, João Pintar, Badrick and Tó Carneiro received yellow cards.
