Luanda – The Angolan international striker Cristóvão Paciência ‘Mabululu’has signed a two-year contract with Libya's Al Ahli Tripoli on Wednesday, the club's official website said.
According to the local press, the contract cost the Libyan team 1.4 million Euros.
After three seasons with Egypt's Al Ittihad Alexandria, the Angolan player could earn a monthly salary of 50 million kwanzas.
The striker will join compatriot Herenilson do Carmo at his new club.
Al Ahly Tripoli is currently seeking a spot for the Confederations Cup, known as the Nelson Mandela Trophy group stage.
The 32-year-old Mabululu scored 45 goals in 89 games for Al Ittihad Alexandria, being the top scorer in the Egyptian Premier League with 16 goals and awarded best foreign player in that country for the 2022-23 season.
The former Angola’s Petro de Luanda player left permanently in 2015 after representing Recreativo do Libolo (2013), Interclube (2016), ASA (2017), Domant FC (2018) and 1.º de Agosto (2019-2021).
In Angola, he won a Super Cup for the Petro de Luanda (2013), the National Championship and the Angolan Cup (2018-19) for 1º de Agosto.
He played a key role for Angola national team at this year's Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d'Ivoire, scoring three goals, one of which awarded the best of the tournament in terms of technical execution.
His performances were key to the national team's qualification for the quarter-finals of the competition, where they were eliminated by Nigeria (0-1). IN/MC/DAN/AMP
