Luanda – The 16-year old Angolan football player, Dario Essugo, became the youngest player to play for Portugal’s Sporting, after his Saturday’s debut in the winning match against Vitoria de Guimaraes in the country’s top football competition Liga Nos.
The player, who turned 16 on March 14, came in at minute 86 minutes in place of João Mário and wrote his name in the club's history, in their 1-0 victory.
The Angolan defensive midfielder can beat another record in Sporting history if he scores a goal this season, and can become the youngest player to score a goal for the team in the first division and beat the record that belongs to Cristiano Ronaldo, who achieved the deed with 17 years and eight months.
