Luanda - The Angolan forward Laurindo Dilson Aurelio, better known as “Depu”, has been hired by Portuguese football club Gil Vicente for three seasons, just hours before the winter market closes in Europe.

The Portuguese club does not give details regarding to the value of the contract, much less the salary that the Angolan international footballer will receive as the Portuguese club only confirmed the signing of the player, on Tuesday, something that has already been mentioned over the past week in both the Angolan and Portuguese press.

The forward player who played for Sagrada Esperança, as well as for Petro de Luanda, was also part of the group called up for the National Team that took part in the CHAN´2023, which is being held in Algeria, and immediately went to Portugal in search of new challenges.

In the African competition for players who play in the championships of their respective countries, Depú was the top scorer for the National Team with two goals scored in two games.

The signing was also confirmed by Petro de Luanda, on its official page on Facebook. In the text, the club say they have made an agreement with the Portuguese club related to the transfer of the Angolan top scorer.

Depú, 23, strong in the game and with a powerful shot, was injured for almost a season after moving to Petro de Luanda. His departure to play in Portugal comes at a time when his position as Petro de Luanda´s main forward was under analysis.

Gil Vicente is currently in 15th place of the Portuguese football tournament, with only eighteen points. The competition is led by Benfica, with 50 points.
