Luanda - The National Women's Football Team made their debut this Thursday with an impressive 5-0 victory over the Comoros Islands, in the first round of group B of the COSAFA Cup, played at the Lucas Moripe stadium, in South Africa.
The national team's goals were all scored in the 1st half of the game, by Gonguinha at (4'), Sara Luvunga at (21'), Matuvova (24'), Nsumbo (31') and an OG by Samra (45+3).
With this triumph, the Angolans lead the series with 3 points, while the Comoros are in 4th and last place with 0.
The National Team returns to action on Sunday (12pm) against Zambia, at the Dobsonville stadium.
For the same group, Zambia and Mozambique will face each other today (3:30 pm), in the same venue.
On Wednesday, in the opening of this edition, Madagascar lost to Eswatini (1-2), while hosts South Africa floundered against similar Malawi (3-4), in group A matches.
The competition is an organization of the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA).
The southern region comprises 16 countries, namely South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Comoros, DRC, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, Eswatini, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
