Luanda – At least 30 chess players, 18 men and 12 women compete since Wednesday in the Joice Cup taking place at Shopping Avenida, Samba district, Luanda.

The competition which was introduced in the Federation schedule in 2017, returns four years after its last edition held in 2019, in which the champions were the International Master (IM) David Silva in the men's category and the International Master (IM) Esperança Caxita in the women's category.

For this year's edition, the tournament will be held under the Swiss system, with 60 minutes and more than 15 seconds for each move.

The absolute national champion Amorim Agnelo (MI) and runner-up Josemar Cabingano in men category, the FIDE Masters Ednasia Júnior and Jemima Paulo are the highlight of the competition.

The technical meeting takes place today at 12:00 and the opening ceremony is scheduled for 02:00 pm.BSV/VAB/MC/MRA/AMP
