Luanda - The Angolan Chess Federation (FAX) has called up eight players, both sexes, for the African Youth Championship, to be played from the 15th to the 23rd of this month, in Johannesburg, South Africa, with the aim of revalidating the title.
The list released this Wednesday, in Luanda, by coach Francisco Andrade, the national representatives for the aforementioned competition were defined, taking into account the fight to repeat the 2022 feat, in Zambia, in men and women categories.
In the call-up, highlight goes to Jemima Paulo (U-16), who won the Master Fide (MF) titles at the African Championship in Lusaka (Zambia), in 2022. Jaime Sonhy, also U-16, who won the bronze medal and achieved the title of Candidate Master (CM).
The delegation includes the assistant coach, Ferraz Dala, and those responsible for the education of children's chess players from the Soyo Center.
