Luanda – The Angolan Tennis Federation (FAT) has canceled the preparation of national junior teams, both male and female, which aimed to participate in the Tournament of the Southern Africa Region, from 12th to 21st January, in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The interruption is due to the organization´s sine die postponement of the competition, a situation that occurs after a week of training at the courts of the Luanda Tennis Club (CTL).
Speaking to ANGOP this Wednesday, FAT´s vice president, João Sanda, said that the institution had received a message from the continental governing body, but without detailed explanations about the reasons for the decision.
Guided by coach João Almeida, the Angolan team includes tennis players Cleuson Tipewa, Hedviges Tuluca, Emelson Pedro, Ana Lemos, Mirian Tuluca and Gabriela Martins, under-14 and 16.
