Luanda - The lack of an athletics track is the fundamental requirements conditioning the definitive approval of the Tundavala Stadium, in the province of Huíla, to host matches under the aegis of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

According to the president of the Technical Council of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), José Neves, who provided the information this Monday to ANGOP, there are, however, other requirements such as the operation of electronic scoreboards.

The infrastructure, opened in 2010 to house one of the CAN series, was recently approved only for the knockout phase matches of the Champions League and the Confederation Cup (Nelson Mandela Trophy).

José Neves, who was speaking on the sidelines of the training of trainers 'clinic', organized by FIFA, said that the property is in category two, which allows it to host only matches of the first phase of African competitions.

Different, according to the source, the 11 de Novembro Stadium was definitively approved for the two competitions (Champions League and Confederation Cup).

With a capacity for 50 thousand spectators, the Camama venue has benefited from several rehabilitation works, and is currently the only one in Angola permanently licensed for the current season.

The certification of the fields is open to the clubs, without any imposition from the local governing body, and each one must present a main and an alternative one.

Angola will participate in African competitions with Petro de Luanda and Sagrada Esperança, in the League of African Champions Clubs, while in the CAF Cup it will have Desportivo da Lunda Sul and FC Bravos do Maquis. JAD/MC/DOJ
