Luanda - The three lists competing for elections in the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) were admitted on Wednesday in the Province of Luanda by the electoral commission, after an opening ceremony and analysis of the candidacies process.
However, only the process of competitor Henriques Miguel "Riquinho" was admitted without missing anything, while that of Carlos Almeida and that of the outgoing president, Moniz Silva, have some insufficiencies.
The information was provided to the press by the secretary general of the electoral commission, Hermenegildo Cachimbombo, adding that both have until the 10th of this month to comply with all legal and regulatory requirements required for the election.
He explained that Moniz Silva's list requests the criminal record certificates of candidates Salif Tecena da Cunha Dias and Geso Giovany Monteiro Bartolo, as well as to integrate the CVs of candidates for fiscal, jurisdictional and disciplinary councils to correspond to articles 36, 40 and 43 of the federative statute.
The electoral campaign happens from the 11th of October until the fourth of December, while the elections for the four-year term (2024-28) is set to take place on December 7th.
