Luena - Chess player Donaldo Dickson became, last Sunday, for the second consecutive time, champion of the 7th edition of the Absolute Provincial Championship of the sport in Moxico, finishing at the top, with five points.
In the 7th and final round, Donaldo Dickson benefited from a lack of appearance by athlete Estevão Angolar, in a competition played in the Swiss system, with the presence of 12 chess players.
The champion finished the competition with the same score as chess players Laurindo Missengo, José Tchimatamata and Mateus Sula, however he benefited from the advantage of the confrontations between them, repeating the scenario happened in the 6th edition, when in the last round he ended in a draw with Laurindo Missengo, also with five points.
Speaking to ANGOP, the champion highlighted the competiveness during the games, with "high-performance opponents, with an excellent level of preparation", he considered.
The next individual challenge, he said, involves a better performance in the Regional Championship taking place in the province of Cuanza-Sul, from the 10th to the 17th of April, a qualifying event for the National "sport-science".
He promised more work with a view to soon becoming one of the 50 best chess players in the country. TC/YD/CF/DOJ
