Saurimo - The president of Desportivo da Lunda-Sul, Miguel Ipwupwu, said on Tuesday that the club has so far run out of money to support its participation in the Confederations Cup.
The first leg, against Madagascar's Elgeco Plus, is scheduled for August 16-18.
Speaking to the press about the recent draw, Miguel Ipwupwu said the club's management has met with the sponsors and the provincial government to find immediate solutions for the Lunda-Sul club's dignified participation in the competition.
He assured that the sponsors and the Lunda-Sul government already have an action plan for the 2024/25 season.
“We believe in the sponsors and the local government, so we have faith that by next week the situation will be resolved, and on the scheduled dates we will hold the Confederations Cup matches,” he stressed.
The team that finished third last season with 50 points, will hold its pre-competition training in Benguela province. QB/JW/HD/TED/AMP
