Luanda – Twenty one adapted athletics sportspersons were summoned Monday in Luanda, for Angola´s qualification matches for the Paralympic Games in Paris, France, in 2024.
According to a note from the Angolan Paralympic Committee (CPA) that ANGOP has had access to, the athletes will take part in the International Meeting of Tunis, Tunisia, from 2 to 9 February as well as the Meeting in Morocco from 5 to 12 March.
The National Team will gather at 10.00 am on 5 January 2023 at the CPA headquarters situated in the Cidadela Sports Complex, in the capital city.
Here are the selected athletes:
Emiloide Adelino (from Namibe Province), Juliana Moko, (Benguela), Regina Dumbo (Huambo) and Beatriz Cativa (Cuanza Norte), who are in the T11 (total blindness) class in females as well as Adelino Soma and Jeremias Soma (Huambo) in the T11 class as well, in male category.
In class T12 (athletes with low vision or partial blindness), the athletes are Soraia Cacau (Luanda), in female and Olíveira André (Malanje), Paulão Adelino (Namibe) and Marcelino Návio (Malanje) in male category.
In T13 class, the visually impaired athlete is Jorge Pacheco, from Moxico Province.
Manuel Jaime (Cuanza Norte ), Sabino Chipesse (Bié) and Chaves Gomes (Bengo), who are athletes with amputated upper limbs in T46 and T47 class.
Concerning the guides, the names are José Haypapa (Namibe), Abel Santos (Cuanza Sul), Adão Soares (Malanje), Dorivaldo Mateus (Cuanza Norte), Emilio de Oliveira (Huambo), Abraão Sapalo (Benguela) and Pierrot Ngoyo (Huambo).
The technical staff consists of head-coach José Manuel, the assistant coach Domingos Sapalo, the physiotherapist Constância Tomas, the Physician Pedro Albuquerque, plus Jaime Chilala who is the head of the delegation.
