Luanda - The Jurisdictional Council of the Angolan Football Federation has overturned the two-year suspension the Disciplinary Council imposed on Petro de Luanda and Academica do Lobito, following an appeal lodged by the two.
The two teams have now been sentenced to a fine of 4,000 UCF (1 UCF equals 88 kz) contrary to the previous decision of the Disciplinary Council that suspended them for two years from all domestic and international competitions.
The two teams have qualified for the group stage of the African Champions League and Confederation Cup.
The Jurisdictional Council, however, upheld the four-year suspension from all sporting activity and a fine of 6,000 UCF imposed on former Academica coach Agostinho Tramagal.
It upheld the decision of the Disciplinary Council that relegates Kabuscorp do Palanca and a 80,000 UCF fine, while the club's president, Bento Kangamba, has been banned from all sporting activity for four years and fined 6,000 UCF.
The players Márcio Luvambo and Ito have been suspended for three matches and fined 6,000 UCF each.
The case of alleged corruption began with leaked audio in which, Académica do Lobito coach Agostinho Tramagal, said he received money from Petro and Kabuscorp to falsify results in the championship and the Angola Cup, while 1.º de Agosto tried unsuccessfully to bribe the same coach.
1. º de Agosto had been fined a pecuniary amount, further suspended after complying with decision of the Disciplinary Council in good time.MC/AMP
