CAN'2024: Moroccan quartet to officiate CAR vs Angola in Douala

Luanda – A quartet of referees from the Kingdom of Morocco will officiate on the 17th of June at the Reunification Stadium, in Doula, Cameroon, the match between the CAR and Angola, as part of the fifth qualifying round (Group E) for CAN'2024, in Côte d'Ivoire.

Head referee Rédouane Jiyed will be assisted by compatriots Lahsen Azgaou and Mostafa Akarkad, while Karim Sabry is the fourth official.

On the other hand, the Chadian Djibrine Mahamat Dembele, is the match commissioner appointed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The group is led by Ghana with eight points, one more than CAR, in second place. Angola are third placed with 5 points and Madagascar come last with one.

The draw for the final phase to be held from January 13 to February 11, in Côte d'Ivoire, will take place one month after the sixth and final round of the qualifying tournament.

The race was scheduled for this year between the months of June and July, but was postponed to 2024 due to weather conditions in the host country.

It should be noted that the 34th CAN Edition will be held at the Ebimpé Olympic Stadium, Félix-Houphouët-Boigny Stadium, Bouaké Stadium, Korhogo, San-Pédro and Yamoussoukro Stadium. NF/CF/jmc
