Luanda - Two matches are scheduled for today, Sunday, in the continuation of the round of 16 of the 34th edition of the African Nations Football Championship (CAN '2023), which has been taking place in Côte d'Ivoire since the 13th.
These are the games Equatorial Guinea versus Republic of Guinea, scheduled for the Ebimpe Olympic Stadium at 6pm and Egypt versus Democratic Republic of Congo, to be played in San Pedro at 9pm.
To reach this stage, Equatorial Guinea came first in group A with seven points, while the Republic of Guinea finished third with four points (C), achieved by Senegal with nine.
In the second match scheduled for 9pm at the San Pedro stadium, Egypt was in second place with three points (Group B), won by the Cabo Verde team, while DR Congo was also in second place (Group F) with 3 points won by the Moroccan national team, with seven.
At the opening of this phase, Angola defeated their Namibian counterpart on Saturday, 3-0, with goals from Gelson Dala (twice) and Mabululo.
In the other clash of the day, Nigeria beat Cameroon, 2-0. The goals were scored by Ademola Lookman.
