Luanda - Angolan João Molima is part of the medical commission of the 34th edition of the African Nations Championship (CAN'2023), in football, which starts today (Saturday, 13), until next February 11, in Côte d'Ivoire.
In the continental competition, the doctor, at the service of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), is part of the anti-doping control sector, to test and investigate cases of use of banned substances, mainly by the players of the different national teams.
This is the fourth consecutive CAN, in which the former director of the National Center for Sports Medicine of Angola participates, as a specialist in the sector.
As for the competition, the teams of Côte d'Ivoire and Guinea-Bissau face each other today, at 9 pm, at the Olympic Stadium, in Abidjan, Group A, in the opening of the African event.
The match will be preceded by the opening ceremony, which will feature the parade of the 24 participating teams, including Angola.
The Palancas Negras, the designation of the national team, will debut next Monday (15) at 8 pm local time and 21 in Angola, with the similar Algeria, for Group D. VAB/DOJ
