Luanda – Petro de Luanda, defending champions, on Sunday (5) will face Santa Rita de Cássia team from Uige Province, at 04.00 pm in Coqueiros Stadium, in the capital, an encounter for the second round of the top division national football championship (Girabola2023-24).
In the opening round, Petro drew nil-nil with the long-time “rival” 1º de Agosto, in Coqueiros Stadium.
With one point and in the 8th position, the Petro de Luanda squad will certainly go to Sunday’s game as favourites, since the opponents are seen, in theory, as technically inferior. Moreover, the visitors lost 0-2 in the inaugural round.
Meanwhile, the 2nd round opens on Friday with Sagrada Esperança from Lunda Norte receiving São Salvador from Zaire.
São Salvador are currently leading Girabola after winning in the first round by 4-1, while Sagrada Esperança come third after a 2-0 win, in the initial round, over Santa Rita de Cássia.
