Luanda - Botafogo's central defender, the Angolan Bastos Quissanga, made his debut on Monday as a starter, in his team's 0-1 defeat to Vasco da Gama, in a game related to the 32nd round of the Brasileirão.
The goal, which gave the home team the advantage, was scored in the 28th minute, by Paulo Henriques.
The Angolan player, who became famous at Petro de Luanda, was replaced in the 58” by the Spanish-Brazilian, Diego Costa.
Despite the defeat, Botafogo maintain first place in the league table, with 59 points and a game less, while Palmeiras come in second place, with the same 59 points.
In the last five challenges, Botafogo registered two wins, a draw and two defeats.
Counting on this clash with Vasco da Gama, the central defender, who has already played for Lazio in Italy, has played 67” in two games since arriving at the black and white club this year.
Botafogo's next challenge will be on Thursday against Grémio, who occupie third place in the standing, and it is hoped that the national reference will once again deserve the trust of the technical team for the starting eleven.
