Benguela - The men's teams from Petro de Luanda and 1º de Agosto will compete Tuesday, in the final of the National Under-19 Basketball Championship, in a game to be played at the Arena Acácias Rubras pavilion, in this city.
For the semi-finals, Petro de Luanda defeated Vila Clotilde on Monday, by 70 - 57. At half-time, Petro was already winning by 41 - 37.
In the other semi-final, 1° de Agosto beat Interclube by 60 - 49.
Speaking to the press, Petro de Luanda's coach, Aníbal Moreira, said that Vila Clotilde is a difficult opponent, but that he prepared his players to do their best and win.
"After a 20-point lead, we started to falter due to pressure on Vila's zone, but then we managed to be focused and win the game, which was the most important thing," he said.
He explained that he will continue to work for Tuesday's game, which he hopes to win to hold the title.
Vila Clotilde's assistant coach, Júlio Machado, stated that it was a game they lost without contest, so congratulations to Petro for the victory.
"In the last quarter of the game, we gave everything, but without success. We will continue to work because we still have one more game", he concluded.
