Luanda - The senior men's basketball team of Interclube has a new coach since Monday, named José Garcia, from the Dominican Republic.
He was presented at the club´s headquarters in Luanda by the chairman of the club, Alexandre Canelas, who did not provide details of the contract.
José Garcia, who replaces Angolan Apolinário Paquete, will be assisted by Badrier Vasquez, also from the Dominican Republic.
The new coach has more than 40 years of basketball experience and has already worked in the United States of America (USA), Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Bolicia, Peru, Paraguay and Colombia.
Interclube, temporarily being managed by Helder Domingos “Zé Dião”, hopes to win the national tournament, fired coach Apolinário Paquete, in the final phase of the Luanda Provincial Championship, allegedly due to poor results.
However, currently, Interclubes compete in the National Championship, as well as in the Angola Cup.
