Benguela - 1º de Agosto team beat Ferroviário de Angola 67-33 at the Arena Acácias Rubras pavilion on Tuesday to be crowned national U19 women's basketball champions.
1º de Agosto’s Luísa Amaral was elected MVP.
Speaking in a post match press conference, 1º de Agosto coach Jaqueline Francisco said the goal of regaining the title has been achieved.
“It was a game in which we expected a high level of difficulty, but unfortunately it didn't happen because the result reflects that,” she said.
Pavi Cabila, Ferroviário de Angola coach, said his team tried to make the game as difficult as possible for the opponent, but they were way superior.
In his opinion, 1º de Agosto's title is fair, since they were the best team in the competition and it was an excellent championship, with above-average organization.
In another match, Maculusso beat Interclube 50-30 to take third place in the competition.
