Luanda – The elections at the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) for a four-year term (2024/2028) is scheduled to take place on 7 December this year, the chairperson of the General Assembly, Elisa Gaspar, said today Monday in Luanda.
The official who was speaking to the press at the end of the ordinary General Assembly, informed that the electoral commission will be led by lawyer Ms Paulete Lopes.
In the next few days, the electoral commission will make public the programme for the election, which will include the deadlines for submitting competing lists and the voting population.
As for the balance of the assembly, she said it had been peaceful, taking into account that the outgoing board proposals were all approved unanimously.
She explained that the six points under discussion were approved, with emphasis on the amendment to the statutes, which involved reducing the number of members on the FAB board from 11 to six, which for the participants makes the institution more functional.
The Assembly also approved a proposal to change the number of foreign players contracted, so that instead of two there will now be three at the same time.
Elisa Gaspar said she was satisfied with the meeting as the members and clubs unanimously approved the Management Report and Accounts for 2023, as well as the budget for 2025.
The meeting was attended by 17 clubs and five provincial associations.
The Federation is currently led by Moniz Silva, Helder Cruz well known as Maneda, Gustavo da Conceição, Pires Ferreira, Carlos Teixeira (Cagi), among others. BSV/WR/MRA/DOJ
