Luanda – The Angolan power forward Bruno Fernando scored seven points in the Houston Rocket´s defeat against the Atlanta Hawks, by 107-117, in the first round of the North American professional National Basketball Association (NBA).
In the game held in the early hours of last night, the Angolan player’s team played Atlanta Hawks in the State Farm Arena pavilion, where the basketball player trained by 1º de Agosto, was on the court for 25 minutes, gaining 9 rebounds and making 7 assists.
The National Team player, who is the first and only Angolan in this competition, entered with the first group of five players for the first time in three years since he was chosen by the Philadelphia 76ers and sent to the Atlanta Hawks.
Currently playing in the Houston Rockets, he renewed his contract for four more seasons earlier this month.
Bruno Fernando, 2.6 metres tall and 108 kilograms, in the previous season had an average of eight points per match.
Kevin Porter was Houston´s highest scoring player with 21 points scored.
In the new season (2022/2023), that started in the early hours of Tuesday, the highlight was the winning of the defending champions Golden State Warriors over the Los Angels Lakers (123-109).
