Cuito - The Mártires do Cuito team qualified on Friday, for the first time, for the final of the 3rd National Women's Wheelchair Basketball Championship, despite the defeat, by 11x39, against Misto de Benguela, in a game of the 3rd and final round of the second phase.
To achieve the historical record, the Mártires do Cuito squad benefited from the defeat of the INEFOP team from Luanda against Misto do Huambo, 14-20, in a game of the series.
In the final game, scheduled for Saturday (26), the hosts will fight for the title, facing Misto de Benguela again, who are looking to recover the trophy lost last year, against the Huambo team.
Before that, the defending champion and INEFOP will face each other to decide who will be ranked third.
In the third round of the qualifiers from 5th to 8th place, the Centro de Reabilitação Profissional de Viana defeated the Centro de Medicina Princesa Diana, by 20-08.
In another match, Misto do Cuanza Sul beat Misto da Huíla, by 14-07.
The National Championship will take place in the city of Cuito, province of Bié.
