Pretoria - The FUS Rabat team finished at the top of the Kalahari conference of the African Basketball League (BAL), defeating the CapeTown Tigers Tigers on Sunday night, by 84 -75.
In the last game of the new BAL conference, the Moroccans finished at the top with nine points against Petro de Luanda's with six.
The victory was obtained under pressure in the final moments, after winning, by (15 -13; 37 -34; 59-59; and 84-75).
Athlete Samkelo Cele, from CapeTownTigers, with 24 points was the best scorer of the competition.
FUS Rabat and Petro de Luanda are already qualified for the final phase in Kigali (Rwanda), from May 24th to June 1st.
Meanwhile, the CapeTownTigers, to reach the final, must be the best third overall after the Nile (Cairo) Sahara (Dakar) conference dispute.
The Moroccans registered a single defeat, while Petro had two (2) and the Tigers got four (4).
Al Haly from Egypt are the title holders.
