Luanda - The continued focus on the initial training levels and the massification of the sport, for the high competitive technical level of practitioners, was reiterated today (Monday), in the country's capital, by the president of the Luanda Provincial Tennis Association (APTL), Kenny Vasconcelos.
Speaking to ANGOP, on the occasion of the children's festival, in the field of the Luanda Middle Institute of Economics (IMEL), which involved more than fifty (50) practitioners, the director guaranteed the multifaceted support to the clubs and centers to implement the program.
He added that the ongoing APTL programs aim to make the sport more popular, with an increase in the number of players and the level and technical and competitive quality of tennis players, so that they can best serve future national teams.
The head of Luanda tennis assured that, in order to achieve the aforementioned purposes, APTL has supported the clubs and centers with the supply of sports equipment and materials, such as rackets, balls, mini tennis nets, among others.
As for the festival, at IMEL, with the participation of practitioners from the inner core, from Luanda Island and Lar Kuzola, children aged eight (8) to 14 were subjected to the process of teaching and learning the basics of tennis and recreational games, guided by APTL coaches.
At the end of the field activities, the IMEL nucleus was awarded a batch of sports material and equipment, consisting of rackets, balls, cones, towels and mini tennis nets, in a gesture from APTL, within the scope of promoting and massifying the sport.
Currently, APTL controls more than a thousand practitioners in different levels and categories.
